The built-in SAT calculator is more powerful than you think. Learn how to use it in 60 minutes.
If your student is taking the SAT, they already have access to one of the most powerful tools on the test: the Desmos graphing calculator. This live Desmos SAT workshop will teach them exactly how to use it, so they can solve more problems, save time, and walk into test day with real confidence.
Desmos is built directly into the Bluebook app, and when you know how to use it well, it can help you solve about a third of the SAT math questions faster and more accurately. Most students don’t use it at all or only use it for graphing. This workshop will show them creative ways to use desmos to solve so many more SAT questions.
In this 60-minute Desmos SAT workshop, I’ll walk students through everything they need to know to make Desmos work for them on test day:
- How to solve any equation using Desmos
- How to evaluate functions quickly and accurately
- How to use sliders to explore and solve problems
- How to find mean and median without a formula
- How to run automatic and custom regression
This workshop is perfectly timed for students taking the SAT on June 6.
You can access the SAT version of Desmos anytime at desmos.com/testing/cb-sat-ap/graphing. Students will be using the resource extensively during our workshop.
